Made from North Carolina white sweet potatoes, red wine barrel taste, double ale. Very light drinking medium darkness. Some earthy flavors, mostly sweet with delicious hints of sweet potatoes. This is a cant miss from Johnston counties first “legal” brewery!

Note: Deep River has a red wine barrel aged Joco White Tater which is what this rating is.
Look: It pours brown with a white head. Head retention if moderate. It is a bit cloudy.
Smell: The aroma is heavy with red wine. There are also some herbal aromas.
Taste: The flavor has a blend of malt and red wine with herbal background elements. There is also low notes of plum as well. The flavor also has a bit of tartness with it.
Feel: It has a moderate body with some alcohol warming and low bitterness. The tartness follows into the finish.
Overall, this is a beer that is more a blend of wine and beer; however, it is quite flavorful and enjoyable. Although I like the wine, I would have like it toned down a bit so more dubbel flavors would come through.
