A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown + garnet red + ruby red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of cinnamon + whiskey over the top of moderate to strong aromas of roasted + toasted + caramel + chocolate + dark malts with moderate amounts of lactose + dark fruit (fig) sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of licorice/anise + milk chocolate + coffee. Light aromas of toasted oak.

T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of roasted + toasted + caramel + chocolate + dark malts with moderate amounts of lactose + dark fruit (fig) sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of licorice/anise + milk chocolate + coffee and light flavors of toasted oak. Finally there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of cinnamon + whiskey and just a hint of earthy hops. Light amounts of roasty bitterness which lingers slightly along with coffee + chocolate + cinnamon.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly creamy with a light amount of alcohol warming in the finish.

O: Drinks pretty easily considering the strength/higher ABV and a very pleasant slightly creamy mouthfeel with pretty well hidden alcohol. Enjoy the addition of cinnamon whiskey and felt that it really complemented the base beer.

12oz can poured into a snifter

A- pours black in color with a one-finger foamy khaki head that reduces to a ring

S- smells of sweet cinnamon sugar, baking spices, chocolate, stewed figs, black licorice and oaky bourbon

T- tastes of cinnamon whiskey up front, followed by notes of chocolate icing, Red Hot candies, stewed cinnamon apples and a hint of vanilla. The finish gives some dark fruit with more cinnamon whiskey on the linger

M- medium-light body with moderate carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish

O- the barrels were a nice compliment to the base beer, it reminded of some winter warmer style beers that I've had
