A good friend brought me back some fresh Portland beer including 3 Crowlers from Liquid Riot; this is labeled as Version 7 with 6.5% ABV; love the adherence to the New England IPA style and a very good result with it; after further research, I think this may be mislabeled on the can and is actually Version XI?

Enjoyed at the brewpub on a beerventure through Maine with JLindros. Reviewed from notes.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a hazy golden hue with a thin head that fades to leave creamy blanket and light lacing.

S - Aromas of fruity hops, little malts, grassy hops.

T - Taste is fruity hops, Nice citrus peels, orange, decent light tropical notes, faint bitterness. Pleasant surprise.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, crisp.

O - Overall this beer was decent, rather thin body and ipa profile though.

Tap at the brewpub.

Big creamy 1 finger head fades slowly, nice messy lacing, hazy toasty slight reddish orange color.

Nose grassy floral hops, little orange peel hint resin, little fruity and floral, big malty creamy toasty malt, spicy hops.

Taste brings more sweet toasty malt, little creamy, big time spicy hop, little earthy, mild fruity citrus, orange peel, zest, mild dank resin, candied orange peel. Finish is drier, very bitter, more pith and orange peel.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, decent carb, not a whole lot there.

Overall eh, not much body, mostly just spicy hops without much depth, little malty, kinda generic.
