My first Sahti beer so not too familiar with the style, we'll see how closely this Sahti-inspired beer resembles the description. From a 32oz growler purchased last night.
Pours a very cloudy orange/golden/brown color, basically looks like unfiltered cider to give you an idea, very little head and no lacing.
Smell has a very earthy aroma, yeasty notes are strong with a slight banana and juniper aroma.
Taste has a bready aspect to it, like you're drinking a meal, some light fruity flavors come into play such as the banana and maybe even some pineapple aspects from the very strong yeast front, juniper present but not as strong as it was with the scent, very earthy without the dirt, very little hop presence which is expected, carbonation is low but not near the flat territory, very full bodied since it is bread-like.
