From a 2022 waxed capped bottle. Sampled June 5, 2022.
Handsome and right on looking dark brown to near black color underneath a soft, fading tan head. It never really dissolves entirely and it laces as it fades.
Wow. The aroma expresses dark chocolate, cocoa, ash, char, cherries, wood, and alcohol.
Full mouthfeel but smooth.
The flavor is sweet chocolate malt, cherries, berries, roast, mild vanilla, char, and crackery as it warms. And it really is a warming beer. The booze is notable in the flavor as much as it is in the aroma so be prepared to drink this one slowly. I recommend it.

Black color. Thick tan head, quickly dissipates.
Strong whiskey aroma.. Some chocolate.
Whiskey taste, a little chocolate and coffee.
Way too much whiskey, overwhelming to the point of obscuring the other aromas/flavors.
