Extra Brut IPA. Extremely dry and crisp, with tropical, piney hop notes and a Champagne-like finish. In 1910 & 1911, in the Champagne Region of France, following years of hardship due to crop losses, other stresses on vineyards, and the discovery that wine producers had been using grapes from outside the region, local grape growers revolted in what became known as the Champagne Riots. This dry ‘Extra Brut’ India Pale Ale is named for the climax of this uprising, which occurred in January 1911.

Pretty hard to rate and review a new style that is still experimenting itself. Per research should be lighter than Pilsner and this is a light straw color. They got that. Should be Hopped after the boil so very aromatic and little bitterness. So I get little aroma and a taste and feel with a lot of bitterness.
As stated the style is an infant still developing. I got my parameters from Kim Sturdavant, Brewmaster at Social Kitchen and Brewery, articles where Kim describes what the style should be. Kim is credited with developing the style so I figure Kim is a good authority to go by!

16oz undated can.
Pours clear straw yellow with a big crackling head of white. Zero lacing with minimal retention. Pear, pineapple, and melon in the nose. Light bodied with a effervescent, crisp mouthfeel. Lemon pith with hints of grapefruit and lime leaves on the palate. Zero malt with a significant bitterness. Finishes extremely dry with a lingering bitterness.
Dial back the bitterness and more hops in the nose would be great.
