Poured from a small growler into a Fremont small snifter. Poured from a small growler. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a half finger khaki head that dissipates to patches and moderate lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, mild lactose and bourbon, nice. Flavor is dark toasted malt, light lactose, peanut butter and bourbon. Medium bodied with nice creaminess. Wow, this is really good. Great classic sweet stout body with a pleasant light nuttiness and good bourbon character that plays well with the underlying flavors. This may be the best under 6% barreled beer I've had; hard to believe that it isn't bigger. The stout is very flavorful for its size and the bourbon, although robust, is well balanced. I'm impressed.
