Boiled for more than half a day to create a perfectly smooth beer to sleep in a bourbon barrel for several months. The end result is a kiss of bourbon resting on a thick, dark pillow of creamy chocolate.

Pours black, like pitch black, well of black ink, black. Head is a finger of caramel-mocha colored foam that fizzles away rather quickly. Some inky, oily legs linger on the glass after a swirl of this viscous liquid.
Aroma is rich, smooth roasty and toasty malts. Fragments of earthy, caramely, and bready malts arrive in waves, each crest bringing out a little bourbon and booze with it. Char and barrel character add some intensity at the close, but refrain from soldering off the back with too much heat. Chocolate is interspersed between the malts.
Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts in droves. Rich caramel, layers amongst bready and earthy malts. Toffee, molasses, milk chocolate, and oak round out the corners and crevices. Char and bourbon add some heat and aggression towards the finish. Finish brings forward a little raspberry as close, which adds a touch of sweetness to the other hearty blend. Bitterness remains mild throughout.
Mouth feel is thick, viscous, and hearty. Texture is a neppy, velvety blanket of malts.
Overall, a bold, standard imperial stout that allows the malts and barrel character to sing.
Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 500mL bottle.
