This remains one of my all time favorite beers. Wish it was more widely available.

This is a very good - borderline outstanding pale ale. It has the feel and look of an old school APA but with some newer school fruity hops. Reminds me of a cross of Half Acre Daisy Cutter and SN Pale Ale. Which means I enjoyed it!

22 oz bottle, half pour into typical pint glass.
Definite apricot from start to finish.
Very cloudy, no transparency; unfiltered?
Floating yeast particles; bad pour?
Sediment on the bottom of the bottle.
Extremely soft mouthfeel with a slight sparkle.
Half-inch white frothy head receding to nothing.
Some bitterness but not overwhelming.
Some stickiness lacing the lips and mouth.
I like this cloudy, apricot hops style pale ale.
Pasteurized: No

As a local beer, drinking it so fresh undoubtedly makes it taste great. But, no mistake, this is the best beer I've ever had.

This is West Virginia's Hill Farmstead. Don't laugh until you try his beer. I've only had this one. Slight haze, burnt orange color. Nice head, lacing all the way down. Good balance with medium hop bitterness, though I think the malt wins out in the end. Smooth creamy feel especially as it begins to warm. Reminds me more of Nugget Nectar than most Pale Ales I've had. It is hard to find much wrong with this beer. I've been told that Their "Shakedown IPA" is equally incredible.

Had on-tap at the source. Received in a pint glass. This is THE beer offering at Chestnut.
4.0 A: Moderately hazed orange brown color. One finger off-white head that leaves lots of lacing.
4.75 S: Floral and grassy hops that are just incredible. Such huge aroma. Malts are very clean but offer a touch of breadiness.
4.5 T: Mild bitterness. Huge hop flavor per above. So good.
4.25 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Plenty of pleasant creaminess.
5.0 D: Awesome pale ale. One of the best I've ever had. The taste and feel could easily be bumped, so I added a little love here.

I am not over- inflating any of this when I say, it is the best beer I have ever had. Not to mention that Bill, the owner, is a solid as they come. He is going to be national and soon Halleck will will a world cup medal. I have no doubt in my mind.

12 oz bottle of beer with just a name taped across a brown bottle
A: Good clarity light amber in color looks like almost no carbonation barely any head
S: slight off flavor like stale budlight then some light resiny hops and a good bit of sweet carmel maltiness
T: same slightly off taste follows through to the taste not really aggressively hoppy or malty actually fairly balanced but the flavors are very light a little bland
M: watery thin feel super low carbonation probably lends to the watery feel
O: Its average that slight off flavor is not great but its fleeting the beer is remarkably balanced though but the taste it does have isn't that amazing its rather tasteless
