I'm not sure what the pumpkin necessarily adds to the beer. It should match well with the raisin and clove profile I expect in a dubbel, but this beer seems a little short on sweetness. Strong notes of brown bread and herbal ginseng. Ginger. Overall, a little too woody and dry.

This is one complicated and one I keep coming back to. A clearish burnt orange with a light tan head that is nicely sized and leaves light traces on the sides of the glass.
Smell is not what I expected. Brown sugar and oaken dry notes. Light figgy and raisin fruitiness, cherries too. Pumpkin shows itself in the caramel malt. A bit of pepper and sweet alcohol.
Taste is big on dry and woody notes like the nose. Cherry tinged pumpkin with Belgian funkiness. Malt has a toasty flavor that flows into a vinous tartness, bringing a hybrid sour/dubbel personality to the brew. Dry finish is lightly hopped with earth tones that bring out the tart the sourness as the real finishing note. Quenching and woody with a light fusel edge. Graham and molasses flavored pumpkin lingering.
Feel is on the lighter side for a dubbel but carbonated in the full and creamy character of the style.
I really enjoy sipping this one with just about anything that comes from October to December. It is the fall equivalent of a table red wine that goes with every meal. It grows on you with each sip and has the hearty nature that this time of year brings a desire for.
