Shining Creek is a rich winter warmer featuring notes of honey and dark caramel malt. Subtle spice evokes memories of holiday cookies and good times with those we love.

500 ml red wax capped bottle, no dating that I noticed on there. One of my friends picked this up for me last week on a recent trip to NC, not sure if this was from this past winter or if it was released again for some Christmas in July thing. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours a mostly clear reddish/brown color with about a half inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice but a bit subtle, the brew smells like caramel, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma but with the addition of some clove and bready malt. Taste has a little more of a kick compared to the aroma. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's smooth and a bit coating with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. Overall it's a decent enough winter warmer, wish the holiday spices were a bit stronger but that's a minor complaint. Worth trying if you get the chance to!
