Average fare, the place felt like an American brewpub chain. Six beers, no seasonals. Seems like they rebranded the beer names from Italian to Dutch, can’t figure that one out. The lager was pretty good, styles were basic and quality was average. Seems to cater to tourists and non-beer people.
Food was average, the roasted chicken and frites were ok, the vegan bar food wasn’t.
Service was ok until we tried to leave, had to ask multiple people for the bill which took forever, but that is somewhat common in Europe.

Visited on a Saturday evening with Megan McKenzie, as I did with all of my recent Amsterdam beer visits. A restaurant first with some average beer. I had the tripel which I find as difficult to screw up.

It just popped up in front of me. I see the word "bier" and you have my attention. On Friday night this place was very busy. All expect for a few seats were taken. I wondered if I were still in Amsterdam, as it felt more like a large metal/industrial American bar with young people than a Dutch one. A few of the tables even had pour-it-yourself taps!
The menu is clean cut and bilingual. There isn't much to eat, however their house specialty is their chicken. I didn't try it, but now I regret it. The same concept applies to the beer, as three house beers are pouring from the tap; an unfiltered lager, a red lager, and a dark lager. The beer is brewed on-site, as the brewtanks behind and left of the bar will show you. €3.50 rewards you with a 300 ml pour. Having come here on a whim, I only tried their unfiltered lager (aka Alfa Puur), which was a very good lager.
If only I stayed longer in Amsterdam, I could have given a longer visit at Bier Fabriek. Just something for me to come back to based on my short, yet impressive first impression.
