Had an odd sourness which seemed a bit off. I'm not sure if this was skunked or just not to my taste. Good hops though - really fruity and citric, with big pineapple flavours. Good biscuity malt backbone too.

A: Opaque orangey body with a chunky but regular head of foam.
S: Sour and vinengary. I'd swear there was Brett in there but apparently it's American yeast. Otherwise, floral kind of gooeberries and shit.
T: Very tart, earthy, resinous and American. A very good American. Has a lovely zingy feel down the throat. Very fizzy, that's why. Almost but not quite dry. Pretty bitter but not Alka-Seltzer like in the slightest. As my palate adjusts I loose the gooseberries and get more of the regular orange marmalade. Has a vinous touch to it as well. Nice scrummy head, without being too chewy.
O: Best American style IPA to date.

A 500ml bottle with a BB of Oct 2014, so it's a bit out of date. Picked up a while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described as an American IPA hopped with Target and Aurora.
A: Poured into a Duvel tulip. Bottle conditioned and tricky to pour. A deep, hazy marmalade hue with plentiful floating sediment and good carbonation. Yields a huge head of creamy off-white foam with excellent retention; this slowly reduces to a thick surface layer. Good lacing.
S: Aroma of intensely fruity hops with hints of grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, tropical fruit, white grape, grass/hay, sweet caramel malt, stewed hops and a twinge of sourness in the background. Some lingering raw, almost vegetal overtones. Pretty good but unrefined.
T: Tastes of insanely aromatic hops with a caramel malt backbone and a powerful bitter finish. Notes of grapefruit, orange peel, citrus, tropical fruit, white grape, subtle grass/hay, sweet caramel malt, earthy yeast, stewed hops and a hint of sourness. A touch of raw leafiness in the background. Slightly sweet, followed by a zealous, hoppy bitterness upon swallowing (bordering on harsh).
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and good body. Rather astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, caramel malt, earthy yeast and harsh stewed hops.
O: Boom - a tsunami of hops on the palate. Looks OK, if rather lively. The aroma and flavour are intensely hoppy; replete with fruity notes, caramel malt, earthy yeast and exceptional bitterness. Body is alright yet leaves the palate dry. Certainly an attention-grabbing IPA but rather untamed and raw. Could be a tad more balanced. Worth sampling if you find it - hopheads only.

Pours a murky brown colour. Very murky indeed. Big head and great lacing
Aroma is hoppy. Very hoppy. Floral English hops and a bit of fruitiness. Not a huge aroma but a moderate and decent IPA or pale ale type smell.
Taste is very bitter. Lots of green hoppiness here with some substantial malt backbone. This reminds me a lot of Kernel (London craft brewery) pale ales. Citrus and grapefruit are noticeable but somehow it has an English ale undercurrent that differentiates it from American style IPAs.
Overall a very enjoyable and tasty bitter ale. It could probably be considered an American pale ale or an IPA as the boundary is blurred. This beer lacked any outstanding features or surprises but did deliver a big hit of hops and a very satisfying drink.

Amber blonde with puffy loose finger of froth.
Tart Seville orange nose, maybe a bit solventy.
Apricot biscuit, big tart middle, and a big sour citrus hop hit.
Perfumed finish and lemon peel linger.
Lt-med, round, oily.
It's well hoppy, with nice contrast between fruit and lean citrus. But also a bit too tart and almost purposefully rough IBUs. Something of an uncomfortable mismatch.
