Invicta impressed me with their idea of an India Dark Ale, so now on to another, albeit more popular American style, the Imperial India Ale. Thanks to Sergio for the 500 ml bottle! On to the beer:
A darker DIPA. It's dark orange/red colored and topped with a semi-creamy head. Good lacing whips around the glass. Aroma is weaker than expected, as it shows a little toasted sugar and a dash of hop flowers. The taste is an improvement, modestly hoppy with a solid malt backbone. The hop aspect doesn't jump at you right off the bat, as it tends to creep onto your palate in the later stages. The flavors of citrus, orange, and grapefruit are mellow compared to the American versions. There's also modest tea and resin notes. A little bit of the alcohol is tasted as well. The beer is medium-full bodied and ends up as a pleasing beer to drink. If compared to one of America's coasts, Invicta's version tastes more East Coast than West Coast.

500ml bottle served in a pint glass.
A: Pours a dark orange to copper color forming a medium creamy and thin bubbled light yellow head. Clear. Good retention and tons of lingering, molasses and bit soapy lacings left in the glass
S: Great notes of caramel, sweet malts and flowery hops in the nose. Notes of dry fruits like raisins and plums. Roasted malts. Hops have grassy and pine profile
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, crystal malts, dry fruits: raisins and plums. Grapefruit. Roasted malts. Crispy and biscuity. Great hops profile. A mix of grassy, a bit citrus and quite piny. Great bitterness. Excellent bittersweet combination. Perfect 115 IBUs.
M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Caramel and piny hops in the aftertaste
O: Great drinkability. One of the today's top 5 Brazilian IPAs

Nice bold amber color with a thick off-white head with good retention and leaving laces all over it.
Relatively light aroma for an imperial IPA, lemon citrus with caramel notes. Did not get much of the stated floral notes. Interesting I just had a Brains SA gold which had a similar nose, even being a much lighter beer.
Loved its bitter flavor, its 115 IBUs initially made me sneeze, then afterwards as it usually happens became lighter. Hints of grapefruit, slightly toasted malt sweetness and caramels. Dry and long lasting bitterness aftertaste.
Medium to full body with low carbonation with tiny bubbles. 8% ABV is well disguised in its flavor.
Good beer, bold with good personality (though not unique). Reminded me of a Sixpoint Resin, though losing in complexity, strength and aroma.
