750 ml bottle into a chalice.

Pours a hazy golden color with a modest white head. The head leaves minimal splotches of lacing before quickly settling into a thin halo.

The aroma brings notes of Brett funk, followed by some tart citrus and pear notes. There's a big wave of blood orange with some subtle vanilla and oak on the back end.

The flavor follows the nose to a T: Big notes of Brett funk and tart lemon zest followed by some pear, green apple, and grapefruit. Then comes the blood orange, vanilla and oak with some vinegar and grass on the finish.

The feel is medium-light bodied with good carbonation. Very crisp with a dry finish.

Overall, this is a great farmhouse ale that is full of funky brett notes, sweet citrus and zesty tartness. It's quite complex, and the foudre barrels add a fair bit of oak and sweet vanilla character to balance everything out. Nicely done.

750 ml. bottle.
"Ale with Blood Orange, Serving Temp: 48-52 deg, Ideal within: 2 Years"
Carefully opened with a slow rising head appearing from the top of the bottle. Yes, I love it when that happens! Gentle to moderate pour yields a nearly one inch white head over a nearly bright golden body. Beautiful! Wonderful nose of funk from the Brett (in order: cellar floor, wet horse blanket) with blood orange, grapefruit, and oak. Taste mirrors nose with the citrus leading the way to a superb, tart finish. The funk is also there throughout the experience. Feel is solid and overall, the Lost Nation foudre game is on point! Cheers to the boys of Lamoille County, Vermont!!!
