From the 16 oz can in a snifter via our friends from across the pond! Cheers Keith and Julie!
This solid little brew pours a deep blackish brown with dark tea highlights and a very nice head
of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thick layer, and sports some very nice lacing. Nose of
dark chocolate, coffee, toffee, and medium strong herbal and pine hops. Flavors surpass
the nose with pine and herbal hops vying for dominance over dark coffee, dark breaded malts,
dark cocoa, and light toffee dashed with char and roast. Mouth feel is medium, smooth, lightly
creamy, medium light leaning towards light carbonation, and a bitter hop and bitter malt finish.
Overall, a SOLID brew that reminds me of a porter version of Rogues Whale ale (which was a black IPA
I believe) that I really miss these days.
That said this is a stunner from across the pond!
Cheers
