Italian Pilsner

Crispy Beer for Pizza has enough crust malt character to hold its own against an enhanced hop profile featuring herbaceous notes of thyme with just a hint of pine. Unfiltered and full flavored, our hopbacked pilsner’s finish will wipe your palate clean for your next bite of pie.

Italian pilsner is a modern style with origins in Northern Italy where it was concepted as German pilsner with an English hopping schedule. The style takes its cues from Italian cooking where simple, fresh ingredients create fantastic flavor. 35 IBU.

Copenhagen 4/1 2026. 35,5 cl can from DrikBeer web-shop. White can with cartoonish drawing of some mice running a pizzaria.

Pours unclear golden yellow with a big white head. Stable. Settles as a thin, patchy layer of foam stretching yo cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet maty odor mingling with a citric scent. Sweet pale malts, bread and cereal. Citrus and lemon. Whiff of freshly mown grass.

Strong carbonation. Thin, watery, lively and tingling texture. A bit fizzy.

Flavor is moderately intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is rather dry.

Elegant take on a Italian Pilsner.

Italian pilsners are rapidly becoming a ‘must-try’ for me. Something about the extra hoppiness and drying finish, wrapped up in a sessionable package. So of course I had a pint. I recommend you do the same!

Bright copper/gold color with a modest but lasting foamy white head with some lacing.
The aroma is fresh bread crust, lemon and a hint of pine.
The taste is fresh Italian bread, light caramel malt and lemon, slightly sweet. The finish is dry and crisp with lingering lemon zest and hints of grass and pine, mild bitterness, nice balance.
The body is light with good carbonation level, crisp and very drinkable. Altogether, whether this is a Euro pale lager or Italian pilsner, it is very tasty and refreshing, definitely good with pizza or other hearty or spicy fare, equally good for backyard barbecue or as a general purpose summer cooler, well done.

Aroma is floral hops and big husky/beery malts. The flavor is fruit and and a beery/husky malt/bitter noble hop/slightly strange hint of cough syrup/alcohol finish.

12oz can. Poured out a crystal clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled of bread crust, caramel and toffee. Sweet bready malt with toffee, caramel and a mild bitterness.
