Bottle from Market of Choice.
A clear copper with a dense, off-white head with good retention and lacing, this looks good. The nose is excellent. Funky, earthy, bready, doughy, mildly yeasty, mildly tart, with a little bit of lactic acidity and plenty of Brett funk, this is quite remarkably good. Some oak is present as well. The palate opens tart and funky with a rather yogurt like raw lactic note to go with the very earthy and spicy Brett funk. Earth, dust, a touch of vinegar, clove and white pepper are present. White wine is present too. Raw bready and grainy notes, wheat, barley, toasted chestnuts are present. High but soft carbonation amplifies the rustic nature of this beer. Some oak tannins linger on in the spicy and funky finish. Excellent.
