Copenhagen 31/10 2021. 44 cl can from Systembolaget, Galleria Boulevard, Kristianstad. A lion head in two parts in dark shades of purple.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a mid-sized, dense, beige head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin, flimsy, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sweet odor of dark malts mingling with earthy, spicy scents and a healthy dose of lactose. Roasted, dark malts. Brown sugar and lactose. Toffee and dark chocolate.
Light carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, smooth, creamy, gently tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a notable sweet undertone. Lingering. Finish is sugary with a spicy, boozy burn.
A quite bossy Imperial Stout. Bittersweet, smooth and boozy.
