Our Local Lager Series features local malt from Epiphany and Riverbend. This one is a smooth and rich dark German-style lager wit the perfect balance of hops and malt. Subtle notes of toasted hazelnut, light chocolate, and a subtle roast flavor finish crisp and clean.

16oz can stamped PACKAGED 10/22/21 (45 days ago) poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 5.2% ABV per label. The beer pours bright dark amber with light tan colored head. The head recedes to a thin cap and leaves a little lacing. The aroma is mild with notes of chocolate, roasted and toasted malt. The taste is semisweet chocolate and toasted malt again with a moderate earthy bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, excellent. This is a simple beer executed perfectly.

Solid tasty little lager from Hi Wire...
Dark roasted malts and cocoa rule the aroma department here and they do a good job... that being said, there is almost a noble hop aroma wafting off of this that is very intriguing...smells very inviting...
Roasted dark malts... bold noble hops.... very well made beer.... really really tasty stuff... I am digging this beer a lot... made with locally sourced malts and they are the star of the show and are definitely showing out...
Superb beer... I love good lagers and this is definitely a good lager.... recommended!!!

12/31....pours cherry brown, bordering on black with a ring of off white foam. Smoky malty nose. Sweet. Malt bomb flavor, sweet toffee bite. Smooth mouthfeel, lightly carbonated. Tasty.

Appearance: Served up a dark brown body a modestly-sized, dusty ivory-hued head.
Smell: Little, light touches of toasted bread, brown sugar and fruit with a thinner hint of yeast.
Taste: A taste of water-dunked toast with a lightly sweet taste of dark brown sugar on the tongue. A scant, middling fruitiness hinting a little plum. Minimal hop character yielding a restrained spicy element. Drying, light finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: It's nice, it's refreshing and with that I'm off back to the Downtown Inn & Suites.
