A - Dark brown body with a small tan head that fades quickly and leaves little lacing.
S - Pleasantly heavy on the malt notes, sweetness and a slight whiff of the cherries.
T - Straight up brown ale at first, malty, slightly sweet then the currants take over and add a nice layer of complexity.
M - Thin then drying, but leaves a sweetness on the palate well after the sip
O - This is a nice combo, brown ale with currants, but, I was hoping the oatmeal would make it a little smoother and thicker.

Nice brown beer with a thin head that smells of roasted malt, coffee, currants and even some chocolate. The taste is all of these things with the berries perfectly complementing the twangy malt and coffee flavors. Not getting the honey much until the aftertaste but this is a damn fine brown ale.

Poured into a Duvel tulip. No freshness date.
A- Pours a somewhat murky medium brown color with a 1/4 inch purplish/pinkish head from the currants that retains well before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a nice symmetrical pattern of sheer surface foam. Resilient lacing leaves small specs behind.
S- Toasty malt dominates bringing notes of milk chocolate, nuts and brown sugar.
T- Flavor is dryer than expected considering the aroma was decently sweet. I think the bitterness of the currants is what's at fault. Very unique profile that relies heavily on the currants while the malt vies for position and the honey is nowhere to be found.
M- Standard brown ale feel with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the fuller side.
O- Wins points for originality but not something I'm in a hurry to revisit.
