Collaboration with Zillicoah Beer Company
This collaboration with Woodfin, NC's Zillicoah Beer Co, brewed with all North Carolina malt from Riverbend and Epiphany, doesn’t lack for body or satisfying roasty chocolate notes while finishing while finishing super-dry due to a finer crush while milling and an abundance of roast malts.

16 ounce can, no dating that I noticed on it. Can says 4.5% ABV. Served in a nonic pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with a good inch or so frothy tan head that stuck around for a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like burnt/charred malt, bittersweet chocolate, coffee and and surprisingly some black tea. Taste is similar to the aroma with burnt/charred malt, dark chocolate, black tea, coffee, earthy and toffee flavors. Not sure why I'm picking up the tea flavor/aroma in this brew but I'm liking it. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's a bit slick and easy to drink with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this overall, although I wish it was more carbonated and creamier. But worth picking up if you come across some.

From the tall boy can in a snifter. This nice little stout pours
a dark blackish brown with a decent head of off white khaki foam
that settles to a thin ring, light thin film layer, and shows some
moderate lacing. Nose of dark coffee, char, and chocolate notes.
Flavors follow the nose with dark cocoa and moderate char and subtle
smoke over dark coffee and faint toffee notes. Light carbonation,
lightly coating, lightly bitter malt finish that is somewhat watery
and thin.
A decent standard Irish stout, but lacks a good mouth feel, decent, but could
use some tweaking.
Cheers
