This was given to me by a cousin last Christmas and although I had two six-packs at one point, this was the last can that I had on hand here at the house. I had never heard of Hi-Wire before but since him and his wife had moved to Raleigh last year, this was one of the breweries that was readily available down there. This wasn't a bad IPA and was certainly different than what I was accustomed to for the style but it was enjoyable and easygoing, which is what was needed during these trying times!
The pour to this was nice as the beer was unfiltered, golden, and bright with a moderate head topping it off. Most of the lacing was in the form of three thin and wavy rings near the top of my pint glass with a few scattered spots near the bottom as I was close to finishing this off. Tons of lemon zest, lemon grass, and gumdrop sweetness in the aroma as the taste was just as tangy and light. Some tangerine, earthy Amarillo, and basic malt were in the taste as this was a smooth sipper with a bit of an exotic feel to it. Tangy citrus juice, basic bread, and a moderate carbonation kept this light on the palate and full in body as this was enjoyable down to the last sip.
Part of the stamping on the bottom was cut off but it looked like this was canned on 9/27/19 as it held up well over the last six months. The amount of alcohol was perfect as I could have had a few more of these in one sitting. While this wouldn't win any awards, I enjoyed it as a light and sunny diversion from heavier IPA's, as this would also go great with seafood or Thai dishes. Glad I was able to give this a go!

Light golden, lightly cloudy, effervescent ,nice white head settles into even thin layer (poured into ipa glass from 12 oz. can)
Fresh citrusy hop aroma is enticing
Tastes like a lemon drop sweetness then pale malt, citrus peel , clean and smoothly bittering end. Excellent mouthfeel and a great light citrusy ipa for seafood, sunny day, hangin outside, etc... Highly recommended if you like light, citrusy spa's.

Really good! Smooth taste and a great smell. It’s not super duper hoppy and it doesn’t feel like too much which is good. I would definitely get again if given the opportunity.

Poured from a tap into a bionic pint glass in Granville, OH. Some lacing but expected more from this light, golden, straw colored Amer IPA.
Very little on the aroma side, but the amarillo hop fragrance was present. Expected more from the taste and feel, but was not at all disappointed; Hi-Wire always puts out a quality product, and this is another example.

This is a "Lemondrop and Amarillo IPA". 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a light golden with nice clarity and has bubbles racing upwards; small eggshell white head that falls leaving nice bubbly retention and solid lacing. The aromas have some mild hints of citrus. Lots of crackers and fresh bread. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose. Hints of lemon. More fresh bread and crackers. Lots of fresh grass. Moderate to low bitterness. Malts do their thing without completely dominating. Finishes dry and juicy at the same time. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is an okay IPA. It's really nothing too crazy, in my opinion. I haven't had any of the other IPAs from their "Hop Circus" series, so I can't compare this one to the others.
