Teaming up with NOLA Brewing, Hi-Wire uses their help to tackle the smoothie IPA. Chocked full of Azacca, Citra, Galaxy and Amarillo hops along with a healthy dose of lactose for a creamy, light and unassuming taste that never lets you in on its near imperial strength until the end.

Pale gold and hinting toward pastel straw, the frothy ale releases a dense white cap that draws in the nose with its promise of tangy citrus, tropical, wine-like scent. With a herbal hint of grassiness and fresh tea leaf, the perfume soon gives way to a light and doughy taste of pastry, cereal and agave.

As the hops begin to unfold across the middle palate its the Galaxy and Amarillo hops that shine first with their passionfruit, grapefruit, yuzu, under ripened orange and pineapple boldness. As the other hops add more of a light tangerine, apricot and mango influence those are supportive while still keeping the flavor profile light in its fruit resemblance. As the Floppy Flippy ale hits the late palate, the fruit flavors turn toward a sharp verbena, lemon balm, green tea spice along with a peppery resinous quality of grassy herbs and a hint of cannabis in its bitterness.

Medium bodied and creamy to start, the ale trends malty dry, spicy and botanical with hints of gin as the alcohol spice warms the palate and highlights the sprucy, herbal components of the hops. A medium length aftertaste of green tea and fresh spruce trail into a medium long linger and a highly refreshing taste overall.
