16 oz can dated 12/11/19 poured into Ploughshare wide mouthed glass.
Hazy but not juicy blonde color with a creamy head of 2 fingers, receding to a thick ring leaving webby lace behind.
A fruity nose with as-advertised pink guava, sweet red grapefruit, pineapple, lactose, and vanilla. Ultimately the guava and grapefruit are the most prominent.
Heavy guava straight out of the gate, I mean WOW - super tart, super fruity, juicy, just lovely. Tons of pink grapefruit as well. Mango, pineapple, and slight vanilla show up later towards the finish but still mix in well. Flecks of honey, too. Finish of guava and grapefruit, just like the nose.
Feel is acidic and juicy, with moderate carbonation and no alcohol heat or resins.
Overall, drinking more like a fruit ale rather than an IPA, there is nearly no bitterness to this beer and I have to say it's enjoyable. I think this would be a fantastic summertime treat or a great introductory IPA to people who are shy of bitterness.
