Pours as the name suggests, looks like burnt 10w-40 motor oil. Gobs of thick sticky foam lace on the sides of the glass. Sludgy from ring with a partly cloudy center.
Strong chocolate and pecan notes. Lactose sugars move it up on the sweetness scale but not overpowering.
Nicely balanced between the sweetness, the ABV and the carbonation level.
Very easy to drink. Fits nicely in the ONE AND DONE group. I'll definitely have more, just not today.

Canned on 1/30/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; nice fluffy khaki head that fades leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas have pecans and hazelnuts leading the way. Some vanilla cream and milk chocolate. Mild and subtle hints of milk chocolate. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. More pecans and hazelnuts leading the way along with some vanilla. More milk chocolate. The coffee is subtle and can be hard to pick up. The cinnamon is pretty mild as well and basically goes unnoticed. The lactose comes through. This one has a nice sweetness, but it's nothing cloying or over the top at all. Strong malt backbone. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, slightly creamy and velvety, smooth and dangerously drinkable.
This is pretty nice version of 10W-40. It's probably my favorite that I've had to date, although their Palo Santo version was really good too. The pecans and vanilla shine. It does have a cake vibe to it. It's enjoyable and fun to drink. Well done. I really like it.
