My bestie from Charlotte, NC gave me a can of this beer. It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had dank stone and apricot notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with slight tart fruit start and subtle bitter finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

I often feel that single-hop IPA are a great study in hop flavor and profiling, but often lacks complexity. On the other hand, the use of more than three varieties often ends in a muddled and general hoppy flavor where they begin to wash each other out. Hi-Wires "&" series offers everything that hop lovers want, in distinctive flavored IPA with identity, complexity and charm.

With the generous use of Zappa and Azacca hops, Hazy&Juicy&Hoppy&Fresh leads into a taste where the hops complement each other perfectly, Pouring a reasonably hazy and golden straw, the ivory cap that floats the beer carries a bright and tangy scent of tropical, stone fruit, citrus and bright herbs. A general malty sweetness starts with honeysuckle, spongecake and a mild cereal presence.

Then as the hop flavors increase on the middle palate, its malt influence subsides to a supporting role where the nuances of apricot, mango, passionfruit, peach and orange become discernible and complementary. Hinting toward creamsicle and sherbet, a general fruitiness assists a late palate of fresh tea, cedar, spruce and fresh peppery grasses in a slight mojito kind of way.

Medium bodied and malty-dry in finish, the fruit flavors develop into a medium tenured bitterness with peppery resins, fruit peels and herbal botanicals playing a role in the beer's medium-long and pleasant bite.
