Shaking off the cooler weather and shaking into the summer beer season, the collaborative efforts of Hi-Wire and Branch & Bone shakes things up with a milkshake IPA that uses the full and fruity character of Samba, Citra and Southern Passion hops with the roundness of vanilla for a complete shakedown of the senses.

Hazy gold and topped with an eggshell stained swath of foam, Shake Your Tailfeather gets the party started with a generous fruit bouquet that spans the gamut of citrus, tropical, berry, melon and orchard fruit in a fruit cocktail type of fashion. With a light and herbal presence on the nose, the taste leads with sweetness. Cereal malts, cream candy and essence of sherbet is laced with a pep of wheat germ and shortcake.

But its that unique combination of hops that bleed onto the middle palate to explode with the creamy radiance of orange, mango, lemon, pineapple, passionfruit, rhubarb, peach and cantaloup for a juicy, succulent hop display. Trending moderately bitter, the taste of muddled fruit peels take on a botanical gin character as the hop spice wins out in the end.

Medium bodied and trending malty-dry, the Milkshake IPA finishes juicy and creamy despite its firm bitterness and herbal qualities. A medium long aftertaste of those fruit skins and juniper spice linger slightly past the fruit for a classic IPA closure.
