So, once again, there are no search results from BA proper by typing in "Hi-Wire Lemon Drop". Had to Google it. Someone needs to fire the site search operator.
This can, 12 oz in total, packaged on 12/21/20 (only in the south would you find a "refreshing beer" in the last weeks of December), into Bell's Wheat glass. Refreshing is exactly what I need on this oppressive humid afternoon outdoors.
Pours a hazy yet very light colored blonde body with a fleeting finger of bone white head.
Aroma of ginger candy and a plugged public toilet bowl stuffed with piss and shit and toilet paper. (I guess the more polite note would be "manure" but that didn't seem accurate enough.) Very slight lemon as if someone left their food court lemonade on the toilet paper dispenser as well. Slight rosemary.
Flavor is thankfully immensely better with lots of lemon spritzer and hints of ginger and coriander. It's only sour in the way that you'd lick your powdered thumbs after having had one lemonhead candy piece from your friend a few minutes earlier. The beer drinks faster than water and I'll bet you could down a 6 pack in 20 minutes. Super refreshing. Nice subtle piney hit of rosemary too. This hits the fulcrum perfectly.
Feel is indeed refreshing, with very mild alcohol heat and lots of carbonation that strangely doesn't get in the way at all. Very mild pucker, it's there, but you have to think about it.
Overall, a perfect hot day quencher; just keep your nose out of the can. I should definitely buy a 6 pack if I encounter it. I won't regret it. You hear me, me? Super great on a sticky day. Nearly reminiscent of Urban South's Cucumber Lime Gose, but just a different flavor.
