16 ounce can, no dating that I noticed on there but guessing from when the beer was added on here it's about 4-5 months old. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a Teku, the beer pours a hazy dark gold/orange color with about an inch frothy off-white head that stuck around a while. Good amount of lacing, too. The brew smells like grapefruit, orange peel, onion, pineapple and caramel. I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some earthy/herbal, honey and tangerine flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit creamy and coating with a good amount of carbonation. I liked this Imperial IPA, definitely worth picking up if you like earthy/herbal hops in your IPA's!

From the tall boy can in a snifter. This decent little imperial pours a
amber tinged golden with a nice head of white foam that settles to a thick
ring, light creamy layer, and shows light lacing. Nose of pineapple, honey,
caramel, strong herbal hops, and pine notes. Flavors expand on the nose with
creamed honey, strong herbal hops, pine, pineapple, mango touches, and caramel
amongst astringent booze notes. Nice mouth feel; medium body, hop coating like
a morning jacket for your tongue, spicy, light soft carbonation, and a herbal and
pine forward finish.
Overall, a little loud on the hops.
Cheers

A - Hazy medium orange gold color with dense, frothy, sticky white lacing.
S - Citrus, garlic, tropical fruit, and onion abound on the nose - overall spice forward aroma.
T - Tropical fruit, citrus, lemon rind, onion, garlic, spicy citrus rind, pine resin, and alcohol. Malt base is very light with citrus and tropical fruit for the next layer with spicy onion / garlic on top and the most dominating personality. Ends with a nice lingering lemon citrus rind and spiciness on the back side
M - Big body with a silky texture and soft carbonation on the tongue. Finishes dry along with some alcohol lingering on the palate (but minimal heat on the way down).
O - My favorite part of this beer is how it digs down into old school hoppiness with alot of garlic and spice. Really nicely done and Happy Anniversary Hi-Wire!

When you're eight years old, everything needs to be bigger. A bigger malt bill, a bigger hop variety, a bigger boozy effect is what Hi-Wire has in mind for their birthday beer. Their Hi-Pitch sees greater heights in Triple IPA form.
Tied together with Mosaic, Centennial, Columbus, Cryo & Zythos hops, Triple Hi-Pitch kicks the party off with a hazy golden pour while topping off with a creamy lather. With a tingle of peppery grasses, citrus, tropical fruit and herb, the nose carries a strong impression of hop spice and a soft perfume. A stern sweetness starts off the flavors with caramel, honey and toasted poundcake.
The bold hops take charge as the beer broadens across the middle palate. Pink grapefruit, tangerine, lime and white grapefruit all carry a citronella spice and a rind-like character into a more tropical medley of pineapple, apricot, peach and cantaloup sense of succulence. As the ale trends sharply bitter, the fruits further develop into the muddled peels, pith and rind that's associated with the fruits.
Full bodied and finishing bitter dominant, a spicy alcohol vapor comes with sharp gin botanicals and a vodka-like peppery character that's not quite numbing but spicy instead. Its daringly dry and drinkable mouthfeel offers a dangerous level of drinkability and refreshment for such strong ale. Its long and bitter aftertaste pushes into pine resins and solvents for an intensely bitter session overall.

16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with some haze; fluffy off-white head that falls leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas are bold. Lots ripe fruit. It's on the tropical side. It's very herbal as well. Malts do their thing. The flavors follow the nose perfectly. Lots of pineapple and burnt rubber. Some watermelon coming through, especially in the finish. Solid bitterness. Great hop flavors. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy and dry. It's slightly warm with some peppery alcohol notes, but it's not hot or boozy. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy and smooth. I'd like to say that this one is dangerously drinkable, but it's not a 12.5% beer that drinks like it's 8%. It's a beer that simply drinks like it should.
This is an awesome "Triple IPA". Great aromas and flavors. This is how you do an Anniversary beer! I'm extremely impressed. Highly recommended. This one can definitely hang with the big boys. It's definitely worth checking out if you come across it. Hi-Wire should consider brewing this one as at least a seasonal, because it's a true winner.

It's been a while since I had a very strong IPA like this. This positive experience makes me long for more.
This monster brew pours a deep yellow with thick foam that doesn't seem to dissipate. The aroma is kind of malty and not very hoppy. The taste is somewhat sweet, but not as much as you might expect. There are loads of hops in here to balance things a bit. The whole thing comes over just a little tangy and thick and just a bit boozy (of course). I great strong drink.
Recommended. I suppose this is a one time thing, but it's another good one from Hi-Wire.
