Fall in the mountains is magical. Accentuate the incoming autumn vibes with a beer crafted for the season. Our Festbier is a more quaffable, easy-drinking version of our GABF gold medal-winning Zirkusfest Oktoberfest and utilizes local ingredients.⁣

Brewed with Ursprung Fest Malt from local Epiphany Craft Malt, Festbier is a crisp and pleasant pale lager that has a balanced malt character reminiscent of fresh-baked bread.

16 ounce can into willi becher glass, unreadable can dating, but likely from 2021 like the others. It has been in my fridge the whole time. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with solid retention. Reducing to a thin cap, light spotty lacing and medium streaming carbonation on the glass. Aromas of fresh baked bread, wheat, cracker, toast, biscuit, nutty, herbal, floral, grass, and light peppercorn/pine. Very clean aromas with minimal fruitiness or yeast, and good strength. Taste follows with fresh baked bread, wheat, cracker, toast, biscuit, nutty, herbal, floral, grass, peppercorn, and pine. Light-medium pine, herbal, spicy bitter finish. Medium-high carbonation, light-medium body, and crisp/clean/refreshing finish. Balanced grainy malt and sticky hop mouthfeel. Nearly bone dry finish with light lingering resins and no hop astringency. Perfectly clean lager flavors with minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Minimal warming 5.8%. Outstanding balance of clean malts and noble hops. Spot on style, very impressive.

16 oz. can into mug, this lighter honey colored brew is almost perfect. The only minus is the rarity and price. So perfectly done: clean but not too sweet malt, body, feel, finish. It's all here for the crushing or the savoring. FINE.

16oz can PACKAGED 08/31/21 (3 weeks ago) poured into a dimpled mug at fridge temp 5.8% ABV. The beer pours bright straw yellow with hints of gold and off white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. The aroma is pils malt and a hint of grassy & floral hop. The taste is semisweet pale malt with immediate grassy and floral hop notes trailing off to a slightly mineral, mildly bitter finish. There is a hint of diacetyl here that is distracting, but not enough to ruin the sip. The mouthfeel is thin to medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, very good. This would have been excellent given just a few more days or a week in the tanks.
