Nice pleasant stout. Lower abv so not as thick, more carbonated and arguably as refreshing as a roasted malty stout can be, as it's a little bit watery (without trying to disparage it). Definitely dry though it may be due to age. Body is black as night, sight brown transparency around the edges, with a brief caramel color foam. Consistency and look of a coca cola. That adjuncts are there and blend gracefully. Coffee is there, nice and smooth and not bitter between it and the malts. Vanilla meshes well and the chocolate carries a nice presence. A nice non thick and not overly boozy stout. Hits the spot when you want the complexity of a stout but casualness a little bit like a lager.

Another enjoyable brew from Hi-Wire. Very nice looking, a decent smell of vanilla and coffee, and a great overall taste that was good from beginning to end.

This unpretentious stout has been sitting in my fridge waiting its' turn for quite a while. Big brews and IPA's came and went and it just waited. Today I was in the mood for a stout that wasn't so strong and this really fit the bill.
It pours nice and fizzy and black. The aroma is a clean roasty malt smell with hints of coffee, chocolate and vanilla, just like it says on the label. It tastes just where you would want if you signed up for a lighter stout with coffee, etc. Nicely balanced, not too thick on the tongue. Easy drinking.
Recommended. It is a well-made beverage and a nice experience.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This excellent brew pours a dark blackish brown with
a nice head of tan foam that settles to a thin ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some
nice lacing. Nose of dark coffee, dark chocolate hints, and dark roasted malts.
Flavors show a nice layering of flavors with dark chocolate, dark coffee, and
roasted malts, moderate char, and faint cream with wafts of vanilla. Nice
mouth feel; medium body, light soft carbonation, and a bitter malt finish that
is moderately dry.
Nice standard stout, not a lot of frills, just an easy drinker that would be solid
for a good session.
Cheers

16oz can poured into a tulip.
Pours almost black; small light khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing.
The aromas have subtle coffee notes along with some cocoa. Mild hints of coconut. Malts are there.
The flavors basically follow the nose. More subtle coffee notes. More cocoa along with some chocolate. Some vanilla. More mild hints of coconut in the mix. Malts do their thing. Finishes clean. Alcohol goes unnoticed.
Mouthfeel is light-bodied with active carbonation. It's sharp, crisp, spritzy, smooth and slightly fluffy.
This is a solid stout. The coffee might not be as bold or dominant as some other coffee stouts, but it still does its thing. It's clean, crisp, balanced and even refreshing. Not bad.
