To celebrate our ninth year as beer-makers we crafted a Bulleit Bourbon barrel-aged amber lager. This special release started as a bock base that saw primary fermentation in stainless tanks before being lagered cold in freshly dumped Bulleit Bourbon barrels for 8 weeks. The resulting liquid is full of cherry and dark fruit notes with a pinch of clove and rye spice on the back end. This beer sips like a clean, malty lager but finishes like a whisky served neat.

16 ounce can, canned 06/27/22, thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a chalice, the beer pours a somewhat hazy amber color with about an inch light tan head that stayed around a little while. Decent amount of lacing. Aroma is nice but light, the brew smells like bready malt, vanilla, tea and some oak. Taste is similar to the aroma but with more of a kick, and there's also the addition of some herbal/earthy flavors. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this brew, but it might have been better when fresher too. Still worth a try if you're able to!

The brewery calls this a bock beer but the ancient monks would be spinning in their graves over a bourbon barrel aged bock beer!!!! Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer features a hazy reddish amber color, a big foamy khaki head, excellent head retention and some lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste include some slightly sweet bready malt, some vanilla, and a moderate amount of bourbon barrel flavoring. The bourbon barrel aspect was done just right, it does not overpower the malty beer!!! Mouthfeel is mostly medium rich, smooth with a little hops and bourbon barrel flavoring "bite". I had it with a crab cake dinner and it matched up with the food very well.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This solid little amber pours a medium dark red tinged
amber with a nice head of khaki foam that settles to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and
sports some nice lacing. Nose of mellow bourbon, subtle oak, light vanilla, and light
toasted malts. Flavors surpass the nose with bourbon, oak, vanilla, light sweet bread, bread
crust, and faint herbal notes. Mouth feel is medium, light carbonation, medium body, and
a lightly sweet and balanced finish.

Overall, an excellent brew!

Cheers
