A draft pour that is 99% black with no foam. Smells of chocolate along with light notes of roasted coconut. Tastes of bittersweet chocolate and coconut. However, the coconut presence isn't enough to resemble the candy bar. There is a coffee flavor which also throws off the potential candy bar taste, as does the bitterness. Little bit of cream is detected as well. The full body has medium carbonation. Overall it's not a bad tasting beer, it's just not what was advertised.

L: Pours a cola brew that forms a moderate khaki head, about 2cm thick. Dissipates fairly slowly, leaving behind excellent lacing and a thick, foamy light khaki cloud of retention on top. Darkest, near-black brown when held to the light - totally opaque. Fantastic.
S: Chocolate, lactose, coffee, roasted malts, and vanilla. Some nutiness. Aromas fade fast, but initially they have a very pungent air.
T: Sweet. Chocolate, coconut, molasses, some maltiness. Cacao nibs make first impression, but the coffee and roasted malts really add some bitterness towards the end. Hints of lactose and coconut through the finish.
F: Medium bodied. Creamy, with some moderate carbonation. Not as viscous as other stouts.
O: This is a good dessert stout that leaves a strong impression of a candy bar.

Priding themselves on the viscous nature of their imperial stout, the 10W-40 stout has undergone several renditions, this time taking a stop in the flavor of the candy isle with coconut and chocoate
Modestly black and opaque, the Coconut Chocolate Bar 10W-40 releases a medium dense froth that gives the beer a whole heartedly espresso appearance. Its decadent chocolate, cream, nutty and caramelized scent is balanced with sweetened coconut for an overall impression of Mounds candy. Caramel, candied nuttiness and whipping cream bring a malty sweet upstart that extends on the early palate like praline.
As the sweetness evolves, its simplicity turns to chocolate, coconut and coffee to suggest the likeness of those candy bars further and with an Americano coffee edge. Trending more coffee-llike, a bitterness of moderate hops take hold to reinforce the bittersweetness of cocoa and the earthiness of toasted coconut. The roasted flavors and burnt toast disguise the taste of candy as the robust stout character wins out in the end.
Full bodied while still holding a suggestion of drinkability, its silky textures are lightened once more by the tartness of cherries. A long finish of chocolate, coffee, cream and nuttiness suggest all things of the candy bar fame.
