ONE PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless wine glass
This beer pours pale yellow with a slight haze. It has no head. It looks kind of like hard cider.
Light briny pickle aroma with some sweetness from the pineapple and hints of jalapeƱo.
Briny pickle flavor upfront. A little sweetness from the pineapples. Tickles of jalapeƱos in the finish. I have to really search for any tartness.
Thin bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
It's aiight. The elements are all there. Just not necessarily for my palate.

Very strong and pleasant aroma - for what the beer clearly advertises to be, that is, meaning: pickles and jalapenos.
Taste is very good, too, really delivering on the promise. Very little heat, but it's enough to be noticeable. The emphasis is definitely on pickle. I get very little pineapple.
This beer certainly isn't for everyone, but it absolutely delivers on the premise.

While the competitive sour ale market is raging, its predictable to see brewers reach further and wider for inspiration to fuel their tart intentions. Hi-Wire teams up with Wickles pickle manufacturer for a briny, vegetal, herbal and spicy character, and now with a hawaiian flare, added to their beer.
Wickles Hula Pickle Beer pours rather dull with a light golden chrome and held in a mild cloudy haze before settling under a fledgling froth. With the scent of dill, cucumber, pineapple pickling spices and a spicy tartness creates a sense of curiosity on the nose, the first sip leads in with a washing malt complement of sourdough, brine, fructose along with soft suggestions of floral honeysuckle.
With the sourness ushering in a brisk refreshment the taste soon trends pickle as the malts weaken on the middle palate. Dill spice has a bold say in the beer's taste while cucumbers seem more basil and melon-like, and the tartness sees a briny path of watered down pickle juice. Juicy in its taste, a late bloom of pineapple leads to mild jalapeno spice and only a mild tartness in tow.
Tepid in its intensity, the beer's pickle, pineapple or pepper character aren't all that bold, nor is its sourness. Those looking to tip their toes into the flavors of pickle in their beer will find this the baby step that they need. Finishing somewhat watery and thin, the beer drinks easy enough but simply lacks luster on the more adventurous palate.
