Deliciously built on the hops of Idaho 7 and Azacca, Hi-Wire's "thiolized" New England-styled IPA hits the palate with a prescribed juicy, tropical and succulent taste.
This Big Boy Thiolized NEIPA hits the glass with a golden straw appearance and equipped with a deep and foggy gaze. As the cottony white froth separates, it sits atop the glass like meringue. Teasing the nose immediately with fruity fare, the nose opens floral and perfumy with candied citrus, lighter tropical fruits and melon. Expectedly creamy and sweet, the initial flavor impressions are of angel-food cake, honeysuckle and nectar.
As its creamy sweetness slowly drifts from the middle palate, the hop flavors provide an abundance of fruity flavors that span lemon and grapefruit with a sweeter and more candied effect. Juiciness of mango, passionfruit, papaya and kiwi soon follow for a more tropical taste. But a strong sweet grape character carries notions of sangria, zinfandel and white grape juice in a smooth lemon-drop kind of way. Trailing into a smoothly bitter balance, the late taste is just snappy and dry enough to create a sense of refreshment over all those unique fruit flavors.
Medium-full, creamy and malty-dry, the session closes with a smooth and sweeter fruit peel character for a sense of drinkability and crispness- just enough to take an edge of off the melon juiciness and the cereal creaminess.

Interesting Nose upon pouring. A bit citrus, slight pineapple/lemon & pine. Azacca and Idaho7 doing a delicate dance here with beautiful color in the glass. Nice lacing from a conservative head. Delicate carbonation and medium to light mouthfeel. Taste is familiar with a light balance...no BIG WOW factor here just and good anytime NEIPA. Looking forward to trying in Asheville, on-tap, next time we're in town.
