Poured a dark black with a creamy tan head that stuck around and left nice rings of lace.
The aroma was mostly coffee with some dark choclate, citrus notes and earthy elements.
Bitter cocoa, and chicory, coffee and citrus peel. Out of balance with too much hops and roasted flavors. A touch of smoke and bitter coffee.
Out of balance and overly roasty and hoppy.
medium bodied. Ok, but forced it down.

The Chicory Stout looked very impressive when pored - almost like a perfect stout. It was extremely dark with a nice creamy lgiht brown head with very fine bubbles that lasted for the duration. It's too bad it didn't live up to its appearance. The aroma was slightly malty and chocolatey, not as bold as I would have liked. It was also not nearly as full tasting as I would expect from a stout. The inital taste was a sweet floral flavor. It had a bitter toffee finish. However, the more I drank it, the less I liked it. The aftertaste became more and more overwhelming and unpleasant - almost soapy or chemical-like.
