The pint glass came with a dark copper colored beer. The head was thin, didn't last, and left no lacing or rings.
The aroma was better: hop spiciness and light bread-like scent, but not much else. Tasting produced bitterness right off the bat, some malt notes with hints of ginger and cinnamon. The body felt light to medium but no carbonation was present.
Coopersmith's web site states this was first brewed in 2004 and classify it as a strong amber ale. It's brewed in honor of Benjamin Franklin with corn and molasses added. Personally, this beer doesn't live up to its description. It came across as a bit weak and uninspired but suggested some potential in the flavor department for something better.
