On-tap at Milos' in London, ON. Served in a tulip.
A - Tan foam settles to a collar, leaving behind a few specks of lace. Near-black body that is pretty opaque for the lower ABV.
S - Loads of flavor for only 6.5%; milled, roasted grains, dry-roast nuts, chocolate cake batter, and no alcohol. Nice stuff.
T - The taste is a bit meatier and smokier; savory with some umami to it. A good deal of roast and molasses mixed in there as well, with bitter dark chocolate finish.
M - Medium-full body, with a grainy, tannic, and roasty texture. Surprisingly active, zesty carbonation. Like the heft, but wish it were a bit creamier.
D - This was a really nice surprise, as it's rare to find intensely flavorful stouts at this ABV. Well-executed beer that is somewhere on the cusp of Foreign/Export Stout. I heard it was a pro/am collaboration of some sort.
