From a tap takeover in Toronto. May be a new and limited beer. A sour rye pale ale. Cool.
Middle of the road brownish-red in glass. Murky. Head dissipates a bit quickly.
A hefty dose of that Flintstones vitamin smell that you often get from sour beers on the nose.
This flavor! Pungent, tart, and complex sourness with a back-up strong-arm of hops close behind. Like all hoppy sour beers, this is a bit of a 'beer nerds only' brew, but for someone of my 'developed palate' it's quite the treat.
Only criticism would be that the hops, albeit bitter, seem fairly subdued. There's not too much going in the cohumulone and myrcene dimension here, might be because this is beer is barrel aged.
Would recommend for true beer nerds only.
