A rich stout brewed with cocoa nibs and cocoa powder, plus lactose. It's seriously like drinking liquid chocolate, but not sweet chocolate syrup. This beer finishes dry and nutty like a gourmet chocolate candy.

Pours a very dark brown. The head is quite thick - 4 finger. It is brownish, and fairly long lasting. Nice lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose has some chocolate, and a hint of lactose. Not too strong.
Taste - There's some chocolate and lactose in this beer. The chocolate seems reminds me of chocolate syrup that I used as a kid on my ice cream. As a kid I liked it. I'm not too sure as an adult. Some lactose in this beer.
The body is decent. Slight creamy feel from the lactose.
It's an ok beer. It's good, but I think it could be better.

Poured from crowler into glass. Fill date stamped as '12/13/18', followed by 'SHE FINE'. 5.8%ABV.
Dark brown colored body, with rich brown backlit highlights. Two finger light brown head disappears after several minutes. No lacing.
Aroma is full of chocolate and rather nutty. Chocolate is towards the dark variety.
Taste is packed with darker cocoa and chocolate flavors, along with a hint of coffee. Not too sweet and expresses a low degree of bitterness. There is a milk quality from the lactose that contributes. Has a dry finish.
Less than medium and close to a thin mouth feel. Low expressed carbonation.
As the brewer describes, this beer is like drinking liquid chocolate. Rather a one note profile, and very little after taste.

Appearance: Chocolate fudge colored liquid capped by a couple of inches of beige foam; shards of lacing form; nice bubble show, too
Smell: Sweetened chocolate syrup, vanilla and coffee
Taste: Sweetened chocolate tones swirl around the palate with vanilla and coffee tones developing; earthy hop bitterness builds, through the middle, but the finish is a return to the chocolate
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: While I enjoyed the depth of the chocolate flavors in this beer, the sweetness became cloying, after a while
Thanks, ta_hagen, for the opportunity

Three different forms of chocolate are added to this stout and it is definitely evident. Very rich, and decadent. Too much so for me but it achieves the goal of a big chocolate impression. Just a little too much chocolate overall. Interestingly enough I would not call it cloying. There's some light underlying herbal/earthy hops that help in this regard. Unique chocolate beer I would recommend to chocolate lovers. Doesn't have that milk shake flavor like Boulder Shake (a porter I know)....this is more pure, sweet, candy chocolate. Well worth a try.

750 ml crowler into globe glass, canned on 11/11/2015. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, cocoa nib/coffee, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, cocoa nib/coffee, and light earthy hops flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice cocoa nib/coffee sweet stout style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, cocoa nib/coffee, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.
