I've had a two or three Peanut Butter stouts now and they've all been good but this one is the best I've had. Great peanut butter impression without being too cloying. Tasted like a nutter butter cookie at times but like I said it never left that super sweet sticky feel or flavor that you might expect. Creamy medium body. Very well done. Rating per style for the sub category Peanut Butter Stout.

This beer has a dark body with a creamy brown head. Aroma is of peanut butter and chocolate. Taste follows suit with some peanut butter layed on top of a bitter sweet chocolate bed. . Mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Rich tasting beer that is enjoyable to drink. This is like drinking a liquid nutter butter in a way.....in a good way.....

Pours a dark brown color with a tan 1 finger creamy head. smell of PB and milk chocolate. Taste follows nose it is very smooth with creamy peanut butter and dark chocolate. Silky mouth feel leads to a roasted chocolate malt finish. This truly had a nice PB taste to it with the chocolate complimenting Very good.

750 ML crowler! Been looking forward to finding this one & since my wife won’t touch beer with peanut butter in it - figs, oysters, & weasel crap is OK, though. So taking it myself. If it’s good enough.

The pour is dark brown with a booming head. The aroma is aggressive peanut butter with a touch of bitter chocolate.

Peanut Butter Bandit gets right what some PB beers get wrong. The peanut butter is strong with this one. The first impression is rather bland, but then the peanut butter finish hits the back of the throat & the finish goes from here to Wilmar. Gives the impression that there’s a glob stuck in your esophagus. Not much beyond that. Touch of roast, chocolate, lactose. Supremely rich, especially for the relatively low 5.5% ABV. Not going to have any problem adding this crowler to the gut.

I would say that this is one of the benchmarks for stirring peanut butter into a beer. If it had a bit more chocolate, or roast, or something backing it up, this would be one for the ages. As is, merely excellent, & makes me want to seek out more Junkyard.

750 ml crowler into globe glass, canned on 11/11/2015. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, light coffee, herbal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of peanut butter, milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, cream, caramel, toasted dark bread, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice robustness, complexity, and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a nice roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent peanut butter sweet stout style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of big peanut butter, moderate dark/roasted malt, and light earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Poured from a 750 ml crowler can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a dark blackish brown. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of tan head that settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A roasty and sweet dark malt driven aroma with a scent of peanut butter and chocolate. Upfront sweet scent of peanut butter. Dark roasted malt with a scent of dark chocolate, coffee, toast, smoke, biscuit, caramel, toffee, grains, and nuts with yeast. Sweet hints of milk, vanilla, and brown sugar. Also some hints of earthy hops. A very nice aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a roasty and sweet dark malt driven taste with notes of peanut butter and dark chocolate. Big upfront taste of peanut butter. Dark roasted malt with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, toast, smoke, biscuit, caramel, toffee, grains, and nuts with yeast. Sweet notes of vanilla, milk, and brown sugar. Undertones of earthy hop bitterness. A very good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Silky, smooth, and fairly drying on the finish.

Overall: A very good Peanut butter stout. Nice balance of sweetness and roasty bitterness.

L: brilliant dark brown with ruby highlights under a lacy light tan cap with a very fine bead and good retention

S: peanut butter aroma is real strong and fresh giving the beer a peanut butter and dark chocolate candy smell

T: peanuts lead up front on the flavors but the rich dark chocolate flavors move forward as you drink it

F: Creamy full bodied beer with medium carbonation and mild alcohol warming

O: dark chocolate peanut butter candy candy in a glass with enough hop bitterness, alcohol and carbonation to keep it from being cloying
