Can notes: "A BIG HELPING OF CARAMEL MALTS CREATES THE IMPRESSION OF TOASTY PIE-CRUST WHICH IS COMPLETED BY THE SUBTLE FLAVOR OF TART CHERRIES. OUR BELGIAN ALE YEAST ADDS HINTS OF BANANA AND CLOVE."

Poured from 750ml crowler can into glass. Stamped fill date is '12/14/17'.
Hazy, deep amber colored body. Off white thin cap. Lacing slides back into glass.
Sweet, bready aroma. Esters of bubblegum, banana, and cloves mix in. Tart cherries stand in the background.
The sweet, bready taste is joined by the tartness of the cherries. Ends slightly sour. Also includes pepper, caramel, raisins, prunes, chocolate, and balancing hops.
Medium and coating mouth feel. More toward the dry side. Good level of carbonation.
Well put together dubbel, and the cherries add a faint tart character.

This beer pours a rich amber with a smallish head. The aroma offers up earthy yeasts, plum, apricot, and a hint of date. The flavor leads with stone fruit, primarily plum and dried apricot, moving out into medium sweet chocolate, with the black cherry flavor coming though as a tantalizing hint at the end. The mouthfeel is medium rich, with creamy carbonation. Overall this was a nice, balanced beer, with the cherry playing a perfect background role.
