Tap pour at Grizzly's Plymouth MN. Delivered by Junkyard to Grizzly's on 6/20/2018.
Ruby brown colored body. One finger light tan head, which disappeared within five minutes. Scattered lacing spots.
Rich aroma of dark fruits, oak bourbon barrel, dark malts. Each sip brings forth a whiff of the wonderful alcohol smell.
Taste is rich and complex with the base beer complemented by the oak bourbon barrel. Sweet dark fruits, caramel, molasses, toffee, tobacco, leather. Alcohol is present but not in the way or burning. No bitterness.
Full, extremely smooth mouth feel. Good carbonation support. After taste is kind of dry but rebounds with the bourbon barrel.
Very tasty quad, really enjoy the addition of the barrel to an already solid base beer. The barrel does not overwhelm in any way. The bartender said sales on this have been slow, so it could be available for some time. Looking around the bar, everyone else was drinking a beer with a straw to gold color.
