Pours a creamy lighter golden color. 3 finger frothy white head. Retention is quite good, and there's some nice lacing on the glass as the head dissipates.
The nose is minimal. I'm just not getting anything I can distinguish.
Taste - I get a lot of coconut. There's also a slight sweet backbone to this beer. Minimal hops, as expected.
The body is creamy feeling, and has a good body for a lower ABV beer.
Solid tasting beer.

Originally had in 2019. No notes. Drinking a new batch 5/22.

Cream ale with coconut. Reminds me of first call but coconut instead of coffee. Smooth and easy drinking lager. Very enjoyable.

this is a pretty ridiculous beer, among the most jazzed up, desserty, and delicious cream ales i have ever had. its brewed with lactose, heaps of toasted coconut, and vanilla beans. oddly enough, its not too sugary to be drinkable, which is a real success. furthermore, the lactose and vanilla seem to exist to support the coconut, not compete with it, and they do a great job. the coconut here is nutty and natural, just sweet enough, deeply embedded in each stage of this beer, not just at the end, and really prominently flavored against such a pale malt background. really awesome mix of flavors here, and it still tastes like beer even with everything else going on and being so light. the toasted aspect of the coconut wins me over, its warming and cozy and desserty but not too much. i had high hopes for junkyard after hearing some great reviews, and they did not disappoint. this is one of the better flavored cream ales ive had in a long time, and one of the better uses of coconut not in a stout that i can recall. delightfully creamy and delicious!
