Rocky Road Style Imperial Stout
This Imperial Stout was brewed with roasted barley, conditioned with rich cocoa nibs and toasted black walnuts, and hit with sweet and creamy marshmallow for an overall deliciously indulgent blend reminiscent of eating a spoonful of the beloved Rocky Road Ice Cream.

An almost solid black appearance.
Body was definitely above average with light carbonation. Overall an excellent feel.
Aroma is chocolate, marshmallow, an almost decadent chocolate cake aroma.
Taste is definitely milk with some dark chocolate upfront with marshmallow in close second place. Does come off like rocky road ice cream and this makes for an excellent dessert beer.
As long as you're in the mood for a novelty beer this was excellent. Rich, bold, flavorful with a great body

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a one finger khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, dark chocolate, vanilla and mild nuts. Flavor is dark toasted malt, fudgy dark chocolate, vanilla, walnuts and molasses. Chocolatey walnuts in the the finish. Medium bodied with moderate creaminess, nice silky mouth feel. An excellent, decadent chocolate stout with great rocky road inspired nuts and authentic chocolate. No raisins, unfortunately, but this is fine as is as a big stout bordering on the pastry stout style. The walnuts are particularly authentic tasting with a little of that walnut bitterness you get from the webbing near the outer shell. I can honestly say this made me hanker for some rocky road ice cream. ABV well covered. Really well done and rich. Love to see this one again. Kind of a giant can for the strength of this stout, it really needs, and rewards slow sipping.

Ordered from Tavour, chilled the large 750mL can, poured into a Imperial pint glass. Pretty cascade after pouring.
Look: Dark brown, almost black. Foamy brown two finger head that slowly disappeared but hung onto the side of the glass.
Smell: Big chocolate marshmallow ice cream up front, followed by walnut and boozy hints.
Feel: Medium to full bodied feel, slight carbonation tickle.
Taste: Definitely tastes like an imperial, but you get a nice mixture of walnut and light chocolate marshmallow ice cream. The chocolate taste is more like cocoa nibs and less like sweet milk chocolate that comes through in the smell. Like a boozy rocky road sundae. As it warms the flavors are even nicer and it tastes more and more like a sundae!
Bren is a HUGE chocolate marshmallow ice cream fan so this was her pick. If you like imperial dessert beers this one is definitely worth trying. We were hesitant because all of the Junkyard brews we have had have been a bit musty tasting. This one is a pleasant surprise! I think we need to go finish this with some chocolate brownies... Cheers!

Shimmering black body with brown highlights, pinky finger of light brown head. Milk chocolate, the really nice black walnut, vanilla and light marshmallow with boozy malts in the nose. Taste starts kind of like the dessert/snack puppy chow, marshmallow is more forceful but chocolate is still clearly the star, walnut finishes but as it warms unfortunately a rubbery plastic note creeps in on some sips. Feel is lighter than expected, booze is well hidden which is surprising given the nose, goes down very easy with how smoothly drinkable it is.

A: The beer was jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dense beige head that died down a bit but never completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of cocoa nibs, marshmallows and walnuts are present in the nose; these become a bit stronger as the beer warms up.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the marshmallow flavors are stronger. The finish has lots of flavors of cocoa nibs.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This stout smells and tastes a lot like Rocky Road ice cream. It does a very good job at hiding nearly all of the alcohol from the taste.

32oz crowler. Fill date of 12/17/19.
Black colored body, and no backlit edge seen. One finger of mocha brown head, settles back to thin cap. Leaves an oily sheen on the drinking side of the glass.
Aroma is sweet with marshmallow, and the cocoa backs this up. The roasted malts and walnuts stay in the background.
Taste is rich with a combination of flavors that is very much similar to the taste of Rocky Road ice cream. The walnut flavor is more prominent than in the smell, and blends well with the marshmallow and cocoa. Also reminds me of chocolate brownies with marshmallow. Taste is sweet but there is some alcohol bite that comes through. Lots of marshmallow and cocoa in the after taste.
Thick and coating mouth feel. Good carbonation.
This is a dessert beer that can be paired with brownies, walnuts, or chocolate/marshmallow ice cream for a real treat. Sip slowly to avoid the higher ABV% effects.
