Appearance: Pours a completely clear, deep orange color that leans amber and bronzed. A mild white head. SRM of 12-14. (3.75)
Aroma: Strong aromas of bread malt, honey, sweet bread with light floral notes.
Flavor: Strong flavors of brown bread, honey, some earthy and skunky notes. Mild flower. Mildly sweet.
Feel: Medium-bodied, average carbonation. Finish is smooth and malty. Mildly sweet.
Compared to Fair State Vienna Lager 3/2023: Pours darker, milder head. Milder aromas. More sweet honey, bread, toast, and honeyflower. Less grains, yeast and carbonation. Heavier, slightly darker and smoother.
Overall: A very nice Vienna Lager. Baked bread, honeyflower, and toasted flavors. Leans slightly sweet. Reminds me very much of a festbier or even leans toward a Marzen, but not quite as toasted.. Smooth, mildly sweet, and done exquisitely. (Rating: 4.00)
