A: The beer is clear amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down but never completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts and orange hops are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of caramel malts along with strong notes of orange hops. There are also hints of sweetness and bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has a very good balance between the malts and hops.

A bottle I picked up in a bottle shop in Dornbirn, Austria of all places & brought back with several hundred others from my trip. One of the first I opened as not often you come across beers from South Africa.
It pours a hazy amber colour with a generous creamy head. Aromas of strong citrus & tangerine. Tastes has citrus, tangerine & grapefruit with a medium-low biscuit nuttiness in the background, and some bread. Palate is medium body & medium carbonation. Aftertaste is clean hoppy dry bitterness. Outstanding.

This is one of those on the fence beers. If I was to compare it to US West Coast IPAs it would not score as high....if I was to compare it against other IPA offerings in S. Africa it would be at the top. The beer poured a nice clear amber with frothy white head that is leaving a lacing. The scent has fresh hop character that is leaning toward floral/pine. The taste has a solid malt base with bitterness being present throughout the drink. The mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall this is a good beer and well worth a try if in South Africa.
