Poured from 500mL bottle into a tulip. Bottle says best by 6/2019, so it's pretty fresh.
Appearance: rich, deep amber hue with perhaps the tiniest hint of haze. It's really beautiful when held up to the light. Head is a finger of frothy light-tan foam. I think it's very attractive indeed.
Smell: very malty and a bit sweet with plenty of caramel, biscuit and bread. It almost reminds me of a Düsseldorf altbier moreso than a dubbel. It definitely has more of an American ring to it than Belgian; in any case, I find I like it more than the average dubbel.
Taste: sweet, caramelly, and really quite biscuity. The complexity is nice, but the overall flavor is farther into the biscuity spectrum than I tend to like. Still, it's not too bad for a dubbel.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a nice creaminess indeed. It's satisfying and true to the style.
Overall: this is a pretty well-crafted dubbel. It is not really tailored to my personal palate, but overall I think the brewers did a good job

On tap at PreFunk-Boise.Not enough the deep dried fruitiness or floral notes usually expected with the style. Lots of malt, some yeast, short finish. Feels right, but taste is a bit too light.

On tap, deep amber with minimal head, a little over carbonated, nice caramel notes and good warming feel, lacks a little in the malt profile and a little bit strong on hops at the end, but overall pretty good, would definitely get again. .
