A thanks to the founding father of the canquest, woodychandler, for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden/orange color with 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, melons, light pine. Taste is really unusual. There is dankness, light pine, malts, melons, fairly bitter. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall ain't bad, but it seems like the different flavors can't quite get on the same page.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium coppery amber with a one finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, tropical and piny hops, pineapple, cantelope, mango and orange; interesting. Flavor is caramel malt, piney and mildly citrus hops, mixed tropical fruit, pine needles, orange, grapefruit, and cantelope. Long, lingering piney hop finish with residual caramel. Medium bodied with light creaminess. The main flavor is a classic caramel and piney/citrus Northwest IPA, but with the addition of nice tropical and melon flavors. The hop bill is a little busy, but well integrated and the various fruit and pine flavors play well together. Looks, smells and tastes pretty darn good. Nicely done and a welcome twist on the NW style that doesn't go too far into hazy territory.

On tap at Albertsons. Pours out with huge rocky head and clumpy lacing. Mild hoppy aroma, leaning towards the piney end of the spectrum. Small hops bite at finish. Pretty darn smooth or a DIPA.

Seeing a bunch of Mazama stuff in town... This mini-growler was picked up at PreFunk, but Bittercreek and Brewer's Haven both have it on too... Pours mostly clear orange with a rocky off-white head with nice lacing... Tropical fruit/melon done right in a DIPA with a bracing background bitterness and pithy citrus bringing up the rear.. Pretty proper aggressive PNW DIPA, perhaps a little sweet IMO.
